Chesapeake By-Pass

Phase 1A will be designated S.R. 607.  It will be connected to the proposed new S.R. 7 with the 31st Street Bridge in the east end of Huntington, WV.  It will also serve as a By-Pass around the Village of Proctorville, Ohio via C.R. 403 known as Irene Road.  Date of completion depends upon weather.  The Ahern Construction Co. is trying finish it before this weather.

Phase 1B will be the east half of new S.R. 7.  Most of the land has been purchased for the right of way and the construction should be awarded in Spring of 2003.

Phase 2 is the west section of new S.R. 7 and will connect Phase 1B to the existing S.R. near the west end bridge in Huntington, WV.  At this time we are awaiting directions from ODOT to start purchasing right of way.

Upon completion of each phase the traffic congestion in this area should be reduced greatly.  This Chesapeake By-Pass Project should have a tremendous impact on the entire area.
